DCPS DC POWER SYSTEM
La Marche introduces a new DC Power System for 48V applications. The DCPS system offers a complete DC power solution in a compact package configuration. DCPS system can be installed in standard 19 or 23 inch rack or cabinet. La Marche DC Power system utilizes high efficiency rectifiers, an intelligent system controller, I/O interface board for alarms/sensors, and a load/battery distribution panel. This complete DC system offers battery management with low voltage disconnect, remote monitoring, remote configuration and configurable alarm contacts. The compact design of the system reduces space requirements and installation costs. The system is configured with 48V/50A high efficiency rectifiers to provide a rated output current up to 200A. The DC distribution section is comprised of 16 pluggable load breakers and 2 battery breakers.

The new compact rack mount 1kVA LTI II La Marche Inverter is specifically designed for data centers and telecommunication applications. The La Marche LTI II inverter is the ideal choice when AC power requirements are critical. LTI II produces clean sine wave power using an advanced DSP controlled architecture which achieves 90% efficiency. This 1kVA inverter is equipped with an input DC breaker, status LEDs and alarm contacts. LTI II provides input to output isolation, low harmonic distortion and under-voltage/overvoltage/ overload and over-temperature protections. This rack mountable inverter also provides output terminals in addition to NEMA-5-15-R receptacles. The LTI II Inverter Series is designed to operate at 48VDC input and produce 1KVA @ 120 VAC nominal output.

HYDROGEN DETECTION INTERFACE
A77 Stationary Battery Charger Series brings substations DC systems another step closer towards NERC PRC-005-6 compliance. The new Hydrogen Detector Interface feature allows for direct integration of the charger and the battery’s hydrogen detector. A77 chargers, equipped with this feature, provide the capability to sense two levels of hydrogen gas concentration alarms (1% and 2%) as provided by the external detector. In a high Hydrogen level condition, the A77 displays an alarm message on the front LCD display, triggers alarm contacts and logs the event. Once an elevated concentration of hydrogen gas is detected, the A77 automatically adjusts the battery charging profile in order to relieve the battery and effectively reduce hydrogen emissions. A set of Dry-type Form C relay contacts is provided for each Hydrogen alarm level for remote annunciations and control (ex. Ventilation fan, external alarm lights, etc).

IEEE PES T&D May 2016 conference in Dallas had a great turn out and was successful in demonstrating Utility battery chargers. La Marche displayed Utility products to help comply with NERC PRC-005 requirements. The A77 Microprocessor battery charger with hydrogen detector and electrolyte level sensor functionalities were demonstrated live in our booth. Andy Keels (left), from Salt River Project, played an integral part in designing these functionalities by working with the La Marche Engineering department. The presentation at our booth was well received by all of our visitors at the conference. Other products displayed in the booth included: Battery Informer (BI Battery Tester), 7 inch Touch ScreenGraphical Display, SwitchMode Utility Charger (A96) and vertical DC Distribution.

2016 BATTCON CONFERENCE
La Marche once again attended Battcon as both an exhibitor and as a presenter. As part of our continual effort to keep La Marche in the forefront as a technical leader in the battery charger field, La Marche presented our second technical paper at Battcon titled, “Understanding the Charger's Contribution to a DC Arc Flash”. The paper examined how the different charger topologies behave under short circuit conditions. The excellent, well researched paper was very well received by the audience as evidenced by the number of questions and comments during the audience Q/A session and the evening trade show. The La Marche Marine MSM Battery Charger now is CE Certified!
The MSM Series is a High Frequency Switch Mode charger specifically developed for marine applications. MSM series incorporates Power Factor Correction (PFC) Circuitry with a wide input voltage range in order to accommodate many marine charging applications. CHARGER TRAINING PROGRAM

La Marche Manufacturing has been heavily conducting Battery Charger/ DC Systems Technical Education and Training sessions online and at customer’s sites across the country. Those Lunch & Learn sessions discuss, in depth, the topology and operation of each one of the charger’s technologies that La Marche manufacturing offers, such as SCR, Ferroresonant, Magnetic Amplifiers and High Frequency Switchmode. These education sessions assist La Marche users in selecting the best charger for their application, as it helps them to understand the advantages of the technology each charger has to offer.
CHARGER TRAINING PROGRAM
La Marche sessions also discuss the overall operation of the battery charger in DC systems, charging settings, configurations, installation and commissioning. In addition, charger features and the role they play in compliance with industrial regulations are covered. The program can also be tailored towards specific user topics.

A77 BATTERY CONTINUITY TEST
NERC PRC regulations require periodic maintenance and monitoring of DC backup power system's attributes. Therefore, the La Marche A77 Digitally Controlled Microprocessor SCR Battery Charger introduces a new standard feature to help utilities with NERC PRC compliance.
The A77 Battery Charger automatically performs a Battery Continuity test on the DC system's battery. This test ensures solid connections between the battery and the charger, as well as indicating the battery‘s overall condition and its ability to support the load. The results of this periodic test are logged onto the MicroSD memory card in the charger as part of the data logging file for maintenance records. In addition, the test result is displayed on the LCD display and communicated through the summary alarm contacts and multiple communication protocols. The Battery Continuity test can also be initiated manually for additional flexibility in performing NERC PRC periodic maintenance activities.
The A77 Battery Charger assists utilities with NERC compliance by monitoring and logging many other DC system's attributes; such as High and Low voltage alarms, DC ground leakage, Float voltage level, Hydrogen levels and Battery Electrolyte levels.

ISOLATION TRANSFORMER

La Marche Manufacturing introduces an Isolation Transformer Series (ITS) that is engineered for installations in industrial and marine harsh environments. The La Marche ITS transformer protects circuits, equipment, and people from electric shocks and short circuits. The Marine version (ITSM) of this series has been designed to isolate the ship’s electrical systems from the shore power and protect the ship against surges, corrosion and EMI interference.
Like many other La Marche products, the Isolation Transformer series is designed per UL safety requirements and Class H insulation system. For further details, refer to the brochure on the La Marche website.

SINGLE CELL CHARGER
La Marche will soon introduce a new Single Cell Battery Charger which is used to restore battery‘s capacity, balance its specific gravity and reverse the sulfation process known to degrade battery systems health. This charger is also used to maintain factory charge on battery cells in storage in order to avoid premature battery failures. A wide output voltage range offers the ability to exercise the battery at higher voltages to refresh sulfating cells. For safe long term charging, an integrated 8 and 24 hour timer is included that will automatically terminate the charge cycle. This charger offers the flexibility to charge single or three cell batteries at a 5 or 10amp charging rate.
